PokerStars Launches New Time Tourneys
PokerStars has reinvented the poker tournament with new Time Tourneys. The premise is simple, each Time Tourney has a set time period ranging from 15 minutes to 180 minutes. Once the tournament begins the timer counts down, and when it reaches zero the tournament is over. The finishing positions and prizes are determined by stack size at the completion of the tournament.
Time Tourneys bring about a strategical conundrum, as players must decide late in the tournament whether to gamble for one of the top spots or to maintain their chip position.
Timed Tourneys are running 24/7 for as little as $1, and there is a new featured tournament every Saturday afternoon: The Saturday Countdown - a $22 buy-in, two-hour Time Tourney with $10K Guaranteed.
