WCOOP
WCOOP Underway on PokerStars

The most prestigious tournament series in online poker, WCOOP, is officially underway on PokerStars. The revamped schedule will feature 82 official events with an astonishing $50 million in guaranteed prizepools through September 26th. In addition, for the first time there will also be a Mini-WCOOP companion series that allows players to get involved for a fraction of the cost.

After taking into account player feedback PokerStars has produced a fantastic lineup of online tournaments that will run throughout September. There will be events in all game types - from NL Hold’em to Badugi and 8-Game Mix, no matter your preference they’ve got it. An eclectic set of structures and formats also await participants - short handed, ante-up, knockouts, rebuys, and more.

Notable events on the 2016 calendar for both players and railbirds include:

Event #23: Sept. 10th @ 10:00 - $10,300 NL Hold’em Heads-Up High Roller
Event #28: Sept. 11th @ 12:30 - $102,000 NL Hold’em Super High Roller 8-Max
Event #30: Sept. 11th @ 17:00 - $109 NL Hold’em Sunday Cooldown 6-Max
Event #53: Sept. 18th @ 12:30 - $10,300 NL Hold’em High Roller 8-Max
Event #54: Sept. 18th @ 14:00 - $2,100 NL Hold’em Sunday Million
Event #70: Sept. 23rd @ 13:00 - $21,000 PL Omaha High Roller 6-Max
Event #74: Sept. 24th @ 13:00 - $10,300 8-Game Mix Championship

There will also be a ‘Championship’ event in each poker discipline that carries a buy-in of at least $1,050.

Of course, no WCOOP is complete without the $5,200 buy-in, $10 million guaranteed NL Hold’em Main Event - Sunday, September 25th at 14:00 - where the winner will take home at least $1.5 million.

Mini-WCOOP
For the first time ever the WCOOP will be accompanied by a new companion series, the Mini-WCOOP. Can’t afford some the nauseatingly large buy-ins of the main series? The Mini-WCOOP schedule will mirror that of the WCOOP except when it comes to cost. Each Mini-WCOOP tournament will run for between 1/100th to 1/1000th the buy-in (with an $11 max) of its high stakes counterpart. Get the big tournament feel without the bankroll.

There will also be a WCOOP leaderboard that features $70,000 in cash payouts, tournament entries, and poker experience packages to award the series’ top performers.
