BOTs can’t play in Americas Cardroom’s $6 Million Venom

BOTs can’t play in Americas Cardroom’s $6 Million Venom. No, really.

Bad news in BOT Land. Turns out Americas Cardroom’s new software doesn’t work well with BOT programs. A number of BOT providers are freaking out after discovering that their software no longer supports Americas Cardroom.

The reason? Americas Cardroom’s just-released software upgrade was built with many big goals, one of which was to make the site as unfriendly to BOTs as possible.

Online BOT provider War Bot has removed Americas Cardroom from its list of supported poker rooms. And Shanky technologies (the guys behind BonusBots.com) and Kraken, Medusa (PokerBots.com) have reported that their BOTS aren’t working with ACR either.

This is huge news for players who have had to deal with BOTs across major poker networks. BOTs have plagued the industry for years, but earlier this year ACR took a stand. They enhanced their BOT detection team and instituted a policy to pay players affected by BOTs after they were discovered.

Since the policy has been put in place, Americas Cardroom has paid players $450,000 in BOT refunds and banned 12 players for using BOTs. But those numbers are likely to stand pretty still now that BOTs can’t play at Americas Cardroom.

This breaking BOT news couldn’t come at a better time. Americas Cardroom is hosting the biggest poker tournament ever for US players this fall. On November 27th, the US-facing online poker site hosts the $6 Million Venom, just four months after the record-setting $5 Million Venom.

If you want to play in it, you can win your spot through $0 Step tournaments or satellites. For complete info, visit Americas Cardroom. Unless you’re a BOT, in which case don’t bother.
