As of February 1st, Carbon Poker and Aced will no longer be offering rakeback to any players. All accounts on these poker rooms, including those with existing rakeback deals, will be moved to the new and improved VIP program.
Carbon has stated that this change will enable them to "offer larger and more beneficial bonuses and ultimately allows for an improved distribution of bonuses to our players".
Important Note: VIP Points that were earned by players on the rakeback program will NOT transfer to the new VIP system, and should be spent before Friday, February 1st, 2013.
VIP Program Analysis
The new VIP program will offer players on Carbon Poker and Aced the opportunity to get more back, for less rake than the previous VIP structure allowed.
Players will still earn 10 VIP Points for every $1 contributed in rake at both ring games, and tournaments. It breaks down as follows:

For example, someone who was on Tier 1 could redeem 250 Points at 8% cash back and receive $2. This could be done 5 times per month for a total of $10. A player on Tier 4 would need to earn 1,500 monthly points to reach that tier, and could redeem 3,000 points at 19% back and receive $57. This could also be done 5 times per month, for a total of $285. At the highest level, Tier 6, players could redeem 20,000 Points for $700 in cash. This could be done 3 times per month, making the maximum yield through the VIP program $2,100 per month.
