Super Bowl 2026
Super Bowl LX Is Here

According to CBS Sports Research, Sunday's Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium will be the first in NFL history where both starting quarterbacks (Patriots' Drake Maye and Seahawks' Sam Darnold) and head coaches (Patriots' Mike Vrabel and Seahawks' Mike Macdonald) are in their first or second season with their respective teams.

Along with Kurt Warner vs. Steve McNair in 1999 and Matthew Stafford vs. Joe Burrow in 2021, Maye vs. Darnold will be just the third Super Bowl showdown in the previous forty years in which both quarterbacks started the season without a playoff victory.

The Patriots were the first team to make it to the big game following a season with more than 13 losses, and they returned for an NFL-record 12th Super Bowl appearance. (In 2024, New England finished 4-13.) The Seahawks defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX in 2014 to earn their fourth Super Bowl trip.

In addition to selecting offensive lineman Will Campbell with the fourth overall pick, New England made it rain in free agency by acquiring defensive lineman Milton Williams, edge rusher Harold Landry, cornerback Carlton Davis, and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Six seasons after Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Bucs, those actions helped the Patriots return to the Super Bowl.

Seattle also made roster changes, adding Pro Bowl edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence and former Super Bowl MVP wide receiver Cooper Kupp in free agency, moving Jaxon Smith-Njigba to the WR1 position after trading DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and replacing Geno Smith at quarterback with Sam Darnold. The Seahawks were able to return to Super Bowl heights because to the improvements.

For a solid reason, the first seven-figure wager has been placed on the Seattle Seahawks to win Super Bowl LX.

In order to support pediatric cancer research, Florida lawyer Dan Newlin declared that he had put $1 million on the Seahawks ML at -230 odds at Hard Rock Bet. The concept was conceived by him as "a way of leveraging America's love of sports betting to support a good cause."

According to a news release, Newlin will continue to donate "regardless of the outcome of this wager" and will donate any profits from the wager to Nemours Children's Hospital to promote research.

Hard Rock Bet informed Yahoo Sports that the sportsbook holds roughly 70% of the handle on the money line on Seattle and did not change the line following the wager.
